Failed payments and read-only mode
A failed payment doesn't lock you out. You get a 3-day grace window where nothing changes — full read and write. An amber banner appears on every page showing the exact date your account becomes read-only, and the workspace owner gets an email straight away. Fix the card in that window and you'll barely notice.
What read-only means
After 3 days past due, the account goes read-only. You can still open every page and see all your jobs, quotes, invoices, and schedules — but saving, creating, and deleting are blocked until payment is settled. A red banner explains, and the owner gets one more email. Read-only is not a full lock: only if payment is never fixed and Stripe exhausts its card retries does the workspace lock completely, with a Your subscription is unpaid screen. Your data is untouched either way.
Fixing it
- Open Settings → Plan & billing — the billing pages stay fully usable while read-only.
- Tap Fix payment to open the Stripe portal, and update your card there.
- Stripe retries the open invoice automatically. Once it goes through, full access is restored automatically — no support ticket — and the owner gets a confirmation email. Timing depends on Stripe's retry, so it may not be instant.
