The comms hub

Scheduling, comms & AIUpdated

Every job has a Comms tab: one log of every SMS and email about that job, newest first, with a Send a message card beside it. It's your single record of what you promised and when.

  1. Open the job and go to its Comms tab.
  2. In Send a message, pick SMS or Email. The recipient field switches between Phone number and Email address, and email adds a Subject line.
  3. Optionally pick a starting point from Use template — the list is filtered to your channel.
  4. Write the message and tap Send SMS or Send email.

Templates

Eight starter templates come seeded — quote follow-up, booking confirmation, the automated reminders, invoice sent, and more. Edit them or add your own under Settings → Message templates. Templates substitute variables like {{customer_first_name}}, {{job_address}}, and {{quote_total}}; a missing value renders blank rather than leaving the tag in the message.

Delivery and replies

Each message shows its status — Queued, Sent, Delivered, or Failed — with timestamps. Failed messages get a Retry button in the log and also surface on the dashboard's Needs attention panel. When a customer or contractor texts back, the reply is matched to the right job automatically — usually via the message they're replying to, otherwise by their phone number and recent activity. Opening the job's Comms tab marks its replies as read.
